Christopher Newport University’s Ferguson Center for the Arts is committed to bringing world-class performers to Hampton Roads and providing access to everyone. The Arts for All program is a key component to make that happen. We believe that a community where everyone has the opportunity to experience the arts creates a society that is richer in understanding and broader in its appeal.

Ferguson Center’s Arts for All Program was established in 2006 to provide complimentary and deeply discounted tickets to schools and not-for-profit organizations serving children and families who would otherwise be unable to attend performances. The program also supports education and community outreach initiatives, accessibility services, and more. Through the support of Ferguson Enterprises, the Newport News Arts Commission, our sponsors and private donors, the program has greatly expanded to become an integral part of Ferguson Center’s mission.

Experience a fresh approach to jazz and soul fusion with Chelsey Green and The Green Project as they take the Blues Alley stage as part of their AFFIRMATIONS Tour 2024! Described as “passionate, vivacious, electrifying, and innovative,” these Billboard-charting, international recording artists break down traditional string playing by melding classical technique with popular songs and original pieces – including R&B, pop, soul, funk, jazz, disco, gospel and more. They bring violin, viola, rich vocals and even some fun comedy to audiences in a refreshing and dynamic way. Green has performed at the GRAMMY AWARDS®, CBS Late Show, Seabreeze Jazz Festival, Capital Jazz Festival, the grand opening of The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, Essence Music Festival, Carnegie Hall and more and performed abroad in prestigious venues across the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Japan and more.
