Chelsey Green and The Green Project
Violin Re-Identified: From Bach to Beyoncé

FREE EVENT :: All Ages

Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library
3935 Benning Rd NE, Washington, DC 20019
Sunday, Sept 15 2019
2pm – 3pm

Explore the unique sound of violin re-identified with special guest Chelsey Green and The Green Project as they dare to break the barrier between multiple musical worlds. In a workshop designed to introduce audiences of all ages to the infinite possibilities of violin performance within live music, take your ears on a journey through music history—from classical to jazz to pop—and experience how musicians and non-musicians alike can transform their lives through the power of personal creativity.

Dedicated to educating youth, Dr. Green spends time devoted to the community by providing a wide range of educational music workshops to city and county schools, after school programs and educational groups worldwide. Committed to spreading the love of live music to younger generations, The Green Project works with students from all backgrounds to expose them to the possibilities of what music can be.

Presented as part of NSO In Your Neighborhood, a community engagement initiative that provides free NSO performances and activities for one week in a specific D.C. neighborhood.

#NSOneighbor events range from full NSO concerts and chamber performances to in-school visits and masterclasses, presented in collaboration with local and community-based venues.
